Owner Chris Doman started Always Plastering in 2019, after builders and other industry colleagues kept saying he should go out on his own.
“I called my business Always Plastering because at the time, I was literally always plastering – even on weekends!”
Chris’s reputation for delivering beautifully finished surfaces went before him, and all his work to date has been through word of mouth.
He started out in the industry with Gyprock in 2004 and has done everything from driving delivery trucks to making moulds for ornamental cornices. This has given Chris a breadth of industry understanding and experience he now brings to every project.
Chris and his small team of skilled tradesmen specialise in plastering for residential homes across the Sunshine Coast, from Gympie to Noosa to Caloundra, including the Hinterland.
“I genuinely enjoy plastering and look forward to going to work. I love comparing the before and after and seeing the impact of the change I’ve made. I really enjoy mastering my technique – creating nice straight lines and smooth surfaces. It’s all in the hands.”
In fact, Chris loves his work so much he is always smiling and having fun, which explains why people call him ‘Chuckles’.
Chris has a young family, so he’s not always plastering these days. When he’s not creating beautiful plaster surfaces, you might find him with his family at a Sunshine Coast park or by the Noosa River.
But he continues to take enormous pride in his work: “If I’m not happy, it’s not good enough”.
